TERANG police acting sergeant Melissa Gray has expressed her gratitude after locals showed their support for National Police Remembrance Day last Thursday.

A service was held at the Victoria Police memorial stone in Warrnambool last week, with police from across the region in attendance to pay their respects.

Act Sgt Gray said the community had rallied behind first responders, remembering those who had given their lives in the line of duty.

She said locals had both attended the services, and some had visited Terang police station to leave a plant and chocolates.

“We had a lot of support from the public,” Snr Const Gray said.

“I would like to thank the public for that.

“On the day we reflected on our fallen colleagues who have given their lives in protection ofthe community.

“We appreciate the support shown by members of the community.”
