COBDEN youngster Eddie Walsh has been named ‘Cricketer of the Year’ for South West Cricket on 314 points.

The association held its annual presentations at the Cobden clubrooms last weekend.

Several awards were presented during the afternoon.

The Cricketer of the Year award topped off a stellar season for Eddie, who also took home the batting award with 229 runs at an average of 45.80.

Other awards presented included:

• Player of the Week (Country Week) awards – Josh Reynolds and Jonty Raven (under 13s), Parker Walsh (under 15s) and Ned Roberts (under 17).

• Five wicket haul – Taj Podger (Bookaar) under 17 Country Week 5/14 vs Horsham, and Parker Walsh (Cobden) 5/10 Country Week All Star game.

• Bowling award – Finn Tolland (Pomborneit) with 13 wickets at an average of 10.80.
