Tough finals for Demons
THE first round of the Warrnambool District finals series proved tough for the Timboon Demons, with four of the club’s five sides eliminated last Sunday.

The club’s under 18 footballers, A grade, B grade and 17 and under netball sides were all defeated in their respective elimination matches last Sunday, while the 15 and under netballers have won their way through to this weekend’s semi-final round.
After finishing fifth in the home and away series, the Demon’s under 18 footballers went down to the fourth-placed South Rovers last weekend.
Kicking one point in the opening term and kept scoreless in the second, the Demons found themselves 24-points down at the half-time break.
They tried half in the second half but were unable to match it with South Rovers who went on to win 5.14.44 to 1.2.8.
Best for the Demons were Jasper Makin, Max Smith, Joshua McKenzie, Jack Matthews, Leroy Steere (one goal) and Darcy Croft.
It was a tough day on the netball courts for the Demons on Sunday, with the 15 and unders the only successful side.
Results were as follows:
A grade- Kolora Noorat defeated Timboon Demons 42-32.
Best players for the Demons: Danica Clough and Bethany Hallyburton.
B grade – Merrivale defeated Timboon Demons 40-32. Best players: Elle Bryant, Rachel Richardson and Nicole Burvill.
17 and under – Old Collegians defeated Timboon Demons 51-25. Best: Evie Gordon and Zalia Hanegraaf.
15 and under – Timboon Demons defeated Panmure 31-19. Best: Bella Savage.
Timboon’s 15 and under netballers will face Allansford in the first semi-final at Davidson Oval, Warrnambool this Sunday.
The game will start at 9.40am.
