CAMPERDOWN Bowls Club’s division one side headed to Simpson last Saturday but was unable to return home with a win.

The result was not what the team was after, but the hospitality was thoroughly enjoyed.

Camperdown had a 31-shot loss, with all four rinks defeated.

Luke Wright’s team had the closest margin, going down by just three shots.

They hit the front by one shot on the 23rd end but just couldn’t keep Simpson’s skipper out.

Mark McDonald’s team lost 15/29; unfortunately it doesn’t help only scoring on seven ends out of the 25.

Matthew Brewer’s team was 11-all at the brake and won six ends to five when they went back out, but doing a four and seven didn’t help and lost 19-25.

Ron Cameron’s team was level five times during the game and had their chances but went down 21-28.

This has dropped Camperdown down to seventh on the ladder, just in front of Cobden 1 who they will face on Saturday at Camperdown.

This will be a must win.

In division three Camperdown 2 played City 3 at home but due to the weather the game was called off.

Camperdown 2 won three of four rinks but the difference of 5-28 on team 2’s rink was just too great and saw them lose 57-65.

This dropped them down the ladder to third spot.

Ron Simcox’s team led all of the 15 ends that they played 13-11.

Ron Absalom’s team was in front 16-13 on the 17th end while Les Pearson’s team also led all day until the play stopped, 23-13.

Tom Hose’s team wasn’t going well and welcomed the end 5-28.
