The home side applied pressure all over the ground on Saturday, making it difficult for the Demons to get on the board for the majority of the game.

The Demons’ first quarter saw their only goal kicked for the game, with just six behinds added for the remainder.

Despite the low score, the Demons remain optimistic in their hunt for their third win of the season.

Final scores were Nirranda 14.8.92 to Timboon 1.6.12.

Sam Negrello kicked the visitors’ only score for the day while Kyle Delaney, Ben Matthews, Ned Deppeler, Henry Stansfield, Harrison Whiting and Simon Harkness worked hard to be named in the best.

Round 11 of the Warrnambool District League also proved tough for the Demons’ reserves who went down by 66 points, 3.1.19 to 13.7.85.

Tyler Thorburn and Joe Williams both scored for the Demons while Daniel Shanahan, Steven Crees, Jayden Stapleton, Jack Gaut, Jeremy Doolan and Zeth Kerr were named best.

Earlier in the day, the Demons’ under 18s notched up another win and remain on top of the ladder, defeating Nirranda 11.7.73 to 3.2.20.

Eben White starred in front of goals for the Demons, kicking eight for the day, and was well supported by Darcy Croft, Bailey Delaney and Nathan Ellemor.

Croft and White were both named in the best, along with Jack Matthews, Bailey Delaney, Taj Field and Will Moorhouse.
