WITH just three winds under their belts, Terang Mortlake’s senior footballers are hoping to snag another couple before the season’s end.

Sitting eighth after recent wins over Camperdown and Port Fairy, the Bloods have found the going tough in season 2022.

“We’re probably sitting about where we expected to be,” coach Ben Kenna said.

“We’ve had quite a few long-term injuries to some of our key players this season and that really has affected our ability to challenge in a few games.

“And some of those have been season-ending injuries or other cases where we’ve had players out for six to eight weeks and that has had a great effect on our results.”

While the run home will certainly be a tough one for the Bloods, as has the season so far, Kenna is hopeful of “pinching” another couple of wins.

“If we can manage another couple of wins for the season that would be great.

“For a side that hasn’t had a lot of success this year our team morale is good and we’re still getting good numbers at training.”

The Bloods will face ladder leaders Koroit at Terang this weekend.
