Sent into bat at Pomberneit by Simpson, the division two Bulls could only manage a paltry 82.
Despite some good early bowling from young opening bowlers Finn Tolland and Gavin Reynolds, the visitors passed Pomborneit’s score without losing a wicket.
In the division three game at Terang number two, Noorat batted first and amassed 9/248, with Ben Whytcross, Tayla Reynolds and Brady Bernoth taking two wikets each.
In reply the division three Bulls could only manage 65, with Hayley Reynolds top scoring with 21 off 17 balls, including a four and two sixes.
On Sunday in women’s cricket, Pomborneit Gold hosted Stoneyford at Pomborneit, with the visitors winning the toss and electing to bat first.
Skipper Samantha Coxon ripped through the Stoneyford top order, taking 4/7 from her four overs, while Tayla Reynolds took two wickets to see the visitors all out for 47.
A blistering 31 retired from opener Jess Moulden made sure the result was in no doubt, as Gold powered on to make 4/144.
Tayla Reynolds and Grace Wilson both made their first scores of 30 retired to round out a strong performance by the Gold team.
Pomborneit Maroon made the journey to Apollo Bay and batting first made 3/113 from their 20 overs.
Opener Janelle Whitehead made 30 retired from 44 balls, while teenagers Emily Norman (30 from 21 balls including five fours and a six) and Lily Van Es (17 from 25 balls) ensured Maroon posted a competitive score.
Apollo Bay was made to work hard for its runs but passed the score in the 18th over.
Emily Norman rounded out a great game with two wickets while Pru Ferlazzo put in her best performance at the bowling crease, taking 1/16 from three overs.
In junior cricket, the under 16 boys, led by 54 retired from Noah Riches, had a win over Bookaar at the Frederick Street oval.
Pomborneit Maroon defeated Bookaar while Pomborneit Gold lost to Simpson in the under 13 boys.
The under 14 boys had a wash-out, Pomborneit Gold defeated Tomahawk Creek and Pomborneit Maroon defeated Irrewarra in the under 13 girls’ cricket.
