Trestle Estate tender contract
CORANGAMITE Shire Council has awarded the contract for stage one of the Trestle Estate civil works.
Projects engineer Pulkit Pahwa said the contract was for the construction of earthworks, drainage, water reticulation, sewer and associated works for stage one of Trestle Estate.
“Council is delivering the Unlocking Housing Timboon subdivision, also known as Trestle Estate – stage one both as landowner and developer on (part) 5 and 17 Curdies Road, Timboon,” he said.
“Trestle Estate – stage one involves the delivery of eight residential lots and the associated infrastructure such as retention basin, road, kerb and channel, stormwater and drainage, sewer and footpath to service these lots.
“Key milestones from the planning and delivery side of works have been accomplished, including certification of plan of subdivision, endorsement of engineering plans, removal of existing house, native vegetation and site clearing works.”
Ten tenders were received for the works, with Otway Civil Pty Ltd being the favoured option at a cost of $746,000.
“Further consultation with Otway Civil Pty Ltd regarding omission of non-required provisional sums, incorporating value management options to increase efficiencies and rectifying inaccuracies within their tender will result in cost savings and a revised tender price of $690,979.71,” Mr Pahwa said.
Shire mayor Kate Makin congratulated all involved with the project.
“It’s a great milestone,” she said.
Cr Geraldine Conheady echoed her thoughts.
“It’s certainly a very exciting project that council is undertaking to deliver residential lots in Timboon,” she said.
