DESPITE the challenging weather conditions, three CFA members have enjoyed success at the 2023 Police and Emergency Services Games.

DESPITE the challenging weather conditions, three CFA members have enjoyed success at the 2023 Police and Emergency Services Games.
Paul Jeffery, Mike Evans and Brad Pickering – representing region six – travelled to Castlemaine last Friday to compete in the Full Bore (shooting) section at the games.
The competition involved three matches shot at 600 yards.
The first match was extremely difficult, with rain making for poor visibility.
Port Campbell rifle club member Paul Jeffery from the Carpendiet/South Purrumbete RFB competed in target rifle A.
Jeffery won two matches and finish second in a third to win the aggregate after dropping just three points for the day.
Colac Rifle Club member Mike Evans, from the Barrongarook West RFB, won all his matches to take out honours in F class; alsoonly dropping three points.
In second place for F class was Brad Pickering from Apollo Bay Fire and Rescue.
The games are held every year at the end of March.
There are about 28 different agencies that are eligible to complete and there are dozens of sports to choose from.
