UNIVERSITY of the Third Age (U3A) Corangamite is holding a special program for all seniors in the shire.
U3A Corangamite member Gary Kimber said the presentation will be in two parts with the first session covering the understanding of aged care packages with an emphasis on positive ageing and inclusion.
“Leesa Best from the shire will unpack the process of searching for an aged care package and will solve some of the accompanying mysteries,” he said.
Mr Kimber said the second part of the afternoon will focus on stroke prevention and treatment.
“Dianne Speed from the Stroke Foundation will tackle all the issues with strokes - prevention, treatment and defeating,” he said.
“Obviously many residents have had close contact with family or friends who have had strokes and so the information will be very relevant.”
The session will be on Thursday, November 16 at 1.30pm in the Cobden Senior Citizens’ Hall in Victoria St Cobden.
Afternoon tea will follow the talks.
Bookings are essential and can be made to Gary Kimber on 0439 079 098.
