COBDEN star Rhys Unwin has performed well on one of the district’s biggest stages, Reid Oval.

COBDEN star Rhys Unwin has performed well on one of the district’s biggest stages, Reid Oval.
The young Bomber rose to the occasion alongside his Greater Western Victoria team-mates on the weekend.
The Rebels enjoyed a strong win over the Geelong Falcons on Sunday, dominating the scoreboard 17.14.116 to 6.4.40 in round 14.
In the Rebels’ first game in Warrnambool since 2014, Unwin booted three goals which included what spectators called a ‘freakish snap’ from the left pocket in the third quarter.
The Hampden League’s talent was on display in front of family and friends, with five of the Rebels’ six best players coming from the south west.
This included South Warrnambool’s George Stevens (named best on ground).
