MURPHY’S Law caused the upset of the season at Terang Table Tennis last week.
The team enjoyed a big win over top side, Mark’s Battlers, 9-2.
This loss saw the Battlers tumble down to third spot.
Tony’s Terriers and Callum’s Road’s big wins over the TTMI sides saw them move to first and second spots on the ladder respectively.
Mark’s Battlers were missing their number two player, with Billie Baxter filling in.
Murphy’s Law set-up the win by winning both doubles.
The pairing of Colin Venn and Dan Galea won in straight games, while Colin Venn and Harrison Smith had a massive battle to come from behind to narrowly defeat Mark Smith and John Rantall 9-11, 10-12, 11-9, 11-7 and 11-9.
Colin Venn won all his singles while Dan Galea and Harrison Smith won two singles each.
Mark Smith also won two singles.
Callum’s Road defeated TTMI2 10-1.
While it was a big win, the scores showed that TTMI2 are showing improvement.
The closest match was between Alex Rochfort and Mohan Ban who was subbing for TTMI2.
Mohan won in five games 11-8, 8-11, 11-9, 8-11 and 11-9.
For the winners, Callum McSween and Michael Pearson won all their matches with Alex winning two singles and a doubles.
Tony’s Terriers had a clean sweep winning 11-0 against TTMI1.
Tony Young, Tyler Smith and Ian Rochfort won all their matches.
