Veteran golfers enjoy a round
LAST Tuesday’s Corangamite Veterans Golfers Association competition was held at Peterborough.
Thirty-nine players took to the course this week, with local Paul Grinter winning A grade with a score of 42 points.
He was followed by Cobden’s Mark Loving, 38 points on countback from Neil Tribe (Peterborough) on 38 and John Bertram from Timboon on 26.
The B grade winner was John Lyons, 37 points on countback from runner-up Colin Venn (Terang), also on 37.
Third place went to Peterborough’s Vince Beekman on 36, followed by Terang’s Daryl Johnson on 22.
Nearest the pins: 3rd/12th Kevin Etherton (Mortlake), 6th/15th Tom Moran (Camperdown), 7th/16th Andrew Burrows (Camperdown) and 9th Steve Douglas (Camperdown) and John Lyons (Birregurra).
