AN unbeaten knock of 40 from Mortlake batsman Jack Lehmann helped the Cats on their way to victory over Northern Raiders last weekend.

The Purnim wicket proved a happy hunting ground for the Cats, who finished on 6/110 while restricting the Raiders to 108.

Lehmann was well supported at the crease by Todd Lamont 17, Neil Kelly 16 and Clinton Baker 10.

Baker also performed well with the ball, taking 4/6 off nine overs including six maidens.

In his first season with the Cats, Lawson Attwood also showed promise with the ball, taking 2/8 from his 2.4 overs.

Allansford-Panmure Gold was too strong for the Cats in division two, restricting the home side to 62 runs while piling on 6/183cc.

Henry Smith (14) and Josh Slater (12 not out) were the only two to reach double figures for the Cats, while Slater 1/25 off eight, Will Berryman 1/21 off six and Oscar Richie 1/45 from nine were the best of the bowlers.

The Cats also suffered a defeat in division three last weekend, going down to Nestles 7/151cc to 7/183cc.

With a knock of 66, Jason Harris was the best for Mortlake, followed by Jason Hughes 29 not out.

Hughes was also best of the bowlers, taking 4/11 off five.
