Volleyball pumps up
Cobden volleyball will resume next Tuesday evening, April 26 for its first season of 2022.

Cobden volleyball will resume nextTuesday evening, April 26 for its first season of 2022.
The association successfully runs three ten-week pennants a year so players can still access other seasonal sports.
Numbers of competing teams range from six to ten with sides being made up of people of all ages, mixed, male and female.
While competitive, particularly around finals time, volleyball is a social sport which caters for players of all skill levels.
Teams from all parts of the Corangamite Shire contest the competition, which was first played at the Cobden Technical School gymnasium in 1978.
2022 represents the competition’s 44th year, with only one COVID year interrupting its continuity.
Now known as the Cobden Recreation Centre, the upgraded and expanded venue allows two matches to be played simultaneously, which minimises the time required to participateeach night.
A new addition to volleyball ranks last year were the Bungador Spikers, who joined the competition for the final pennant and improved immensely over the ten weeks but didn’t lose sight of the important social element.
The first night of the season is a ‘come and try’ session where plans are made for thenew year.
New players and/or teams are welcome to arrive at 7.30pm or contact Gabe Bellman (0428 799 690), Chris Brooks (0419 043 103), Brendan Drewry (0429 626 798) or Kelvin White (0429 921 876) for more details.
