CAMPERDOWN College is encouraging the community to think of somewhere they would like to travel to, with a travel voucher the first prize for this year’s raffle.

Tickets for Camperdown College’s Major Raffle are now on sale, with a $10,000 travel voucher up for grabs for first prize.

The second-drawn ticket-holder will take home $1500 worth of travel and Ticketek vouchers and a $1000 fuel voucher is a lucky third prize.

The raffle serves a dual purpose for Camperdown College and the broader community, raising important funds for the school and giving lucky winning community members reason to celebrate.

Principal Xavier Davis said the fundraising activities helps to give students “the best education and start to life”.

Grade five/six students have been pondering where they might like to go if their family are the lucky winners of the draw.

Fletcher said his mum would like a European holiday, “somewhere where it’s warm,” which might give him the opportunity to see some favourite TV sets.

“Maybe I’d like Great Britain because there’s a TV show called Top Gear that I love and it would be nice to go where they host it and where the track is,” he said.

Marianne and Onaya said they would like to use the travel vouchers to visit family if they’re the winners,

“I would let my mum decide and she would go to the Philippines to see her family,” Marianne said.

Onaya is hoping her family can secure the winning ticket and take a trip to visit Rockhampton.

“My Nanna lives there, and we don’t get to see her often,” she said.

Tickets are available at businesses in Camperdown, through families of Camperdown College students, or from the campuses on Wilson and Brooke Streets.

Winners will be drawn on Tuesday, December 12 and notified via phone.
