MATTHEW Craven scored as a trainer and driver in last Sunday’s Group 3 Hamilton Pacing Cup.
Wardan Express set a new track record with a blistering run to defeat Tough Call by almost five metres in a mile rate of 1:55.2.
Pre-race favourite Stroke Of Luck finished third, whilst the Gary Lawlor-trained Inter Dominion runner Bad Billy completed the distance fifth in his defence of the cup.
Wardan Express, starting from the middle of the front line, led the entire 2660-metre journey after crossing to the pegs on the first bend.
In the Hamilton Trotters Cup, Super Zeck, trained by Courtney Slater and driven by Glen Craven, finished fifth behind eventual winner Alderbeck.
Meanwhile, Keayang Bazooka broke his maiden with victory in a 4YO pace at the Hamilton meeting.
