Warm up with winter promotion
IF you are after a few bargains this week then Cobden is the place to be.
Over three days more than 14 Cobden retailers will offer a series of specials to entice customers this week.
From a history talk on the local whiskey trail to blood pressure checks and a spot of bargain hunting there is something for everyone.
The Winter Warmers event will be held from Thursday to Saturday and shoppers will also have the chance to win a prize for shopping locally.
Each of the participating retailers will be offering a prize for shoppers who spend at least $15. Shoppers can enter once per day, per store.
Event spokesperson and Cobden Sewing Machines owner Helen Smith is looking forward to the event.
She said the Winter Warmers idea is the first event for the newly formed Cobden Retailers Group, which comes under the umbrella of the Cobden Business Network.
On Thursday the Cobden Visitor Information Centre are holding a talk by local historian Alan Hart about the illegal whiskey history of the area.
The session will be held at Nell’s in Curdie Street Cobden between 2pm to 3pm.
Each of the participating stores will have a variety of specials across the three-day event.
The lucky shopper prizes will be drawn on Saturday.
