HOUSEHOLDS and businesses were plunged into darkness when the power went out amid wild weather last week.

According to a Powercor spokeswoman, at about 11.30am last Wednesday, a fault occurred on the network which affected power to about 1843 homes and business across the Camperdown and Cobden region.

“Crews patrolled and found a tree had fallen over powerlines,” the spokeswoman said.

“Power supply was able to be progressively restored to customers throughout the afternoon.

“Once repairs were conducted, we were able to restore power to the remaining customers by 2am Thursday.

“We thank customers for their patience during this work.”
