Windy night for cyclists
CAMPERDOWN Cycling Club cyclists competed in windy, chilly conditions last Thursday night.
Thanks to some great work from Shaun the handicapper, he had the numbers in order and gave spectators an amazing race to the finish.
All riders finished strong over the line but unfortunately the weather was not favourable for any personal bests to be broken.
It was another win to the in-form Nathaniel, with the winning time of 12.37.
Second over the line was Thea (12.19), followed by Ava (12.25) in third.
All riders are improving on their personal goals.
Zane (10.59), Josh (10.01) with the fastest time, Finn (10.03), Henry (13.50) and Quinn (11.37) all performed well.
The seniors continued to race with a different format on Thursday night.
All riders rode in a bunch format until the last several kilometre sprint, which saw a fast finish to the end.
This strategy of bunch riding then a sprint finish ensures the limit group, mostly filled with junior team members, remains within the bunch for the majority of the race.
This promotes inclusiveness and fun for all members as well as the chance for junior riders to gain knowledge from the seniors.
