MEMBERS of the Friends of the Bay of Islands Coastal Park kept busy over the weekend with a planting day.

Group member Lynda Avery said on Sunday members gathered for the winter project day.

“We had sunny winter weather to plant over 200 hardy coastal plants at Croft Bay,” she said.

“It only took two hours to plant out on the degraded areas."

“The friends thank White Ibis Nursery for the local indigenous plants.”

Ms Avery said the group meets four times a year to work in the Bay of Islands Coastal Park.

“Our next outing will be September 4 for the Spring planting,” she said.

“The Bay of Islands friends are always looking for new friends to come and join us in the park."

“Project days normally only last two hours between 10am to 12noon.”
