Works complete
WORKS at Lake Bullen Merri’s North Beach have been completed.

WORKS at Lake Bullen Merri’s North Beach have been completed.
Corangamite Shire Council environment projects officer Roland Herbert said erosion and drainage issues have been addressed, mainly in the central area.
“New culverts were installed to improve drainage and prevent further erosion,” he said.
“Erosion and large ruts were fixed and the turnaround area upgraded with scoria.
“We all love the lake and want to see it look good for all users.
Mr Herbert said some large volcanic stones have been brought in to define the area so people don’t drive off-road, which could cause damage.
“Over the years North Beach has experienced illegal dumping and firewood collection, and off-road driving, which is bad for the lake environment and other users of the area,” he said.
“We ask people to keep to the formed roads, take their litter home with them and enjoy the site appropriately so everyone can make the most of this great little area.”
Council will continue to monitor the new scoria surfacing and drainage to ensure it is working effectively.
