Learn something new: Spinfest will once again return to Camp Cooriemungle in 2024 with about 300 people expected to be involved next year.

Now is your chance to try your hand at a host of circus skills and tricks to challenge and excite.

Camp Cooriemungle will host Spinfest for the third year, with the festival expected to attract more than 300 people.

Spinfest features three full days of workshops, shows, skills and community from January 11 to 15.

Spinfest director Ciara Thorburn said anyone in the community is welcome to book into the festival.

“We are absolutely stoked to be bringing Springfest back to Camp Cooriemungle for its third year,” she said.

“Camp Cooriemungle offers the best facilities which means we have 11 different workshop areas, and over 150 workshops including acrobatics, handstands, fire twirling, handstands, hula hooping, juggling, dance, yoga, pole dancing and aerials.

“The workshops are aimed at adults - though children under eight are free to attend - looking to improve their fitness, coordination and flexibilty levels – or those looking to find a new hobby or meet new friends.”

Ms Thorburn said workshops are suitable for all levels from complete novice to advanced.

“We have been running for 15 years and are renowned for sourcing world class circus performers and trainers providing fun and inclusive workshops,” she said.

“Spinfest is a welcoming community and weekend away into a skill-based sharing environment.

“Think burning man but for locals, a dance party in your backyard, new skills and hobbies you had never even dreamed of achieving, mesmerising fire spinning late into the light – and a whole bunch of friends and new beautiful people waiting to meet you.

“People from all over Australia come to Spinfest to upskill and meet friends old and new.”

Ms Thorburn said aside from a jam-packed workshop timetable there are also shows and activities each night including the fire show on Saturday night, Circus Olympics on Sunday and DJ’s each night.

Spinfest follows on from Australian Partner Acrobatics Convention (APAC) which is also being held at Camp Cooriemungle.
