Young Lions keen to play
THE Corangamite Lions Football Club future looks bright, with a new generation of members starting training last week.

The club has launched an under 12 side this season, which saw more than 25 children from across the region training at Mockridge Park in Camperdown last Thursday.
Coach Ben Miller was pleased with the turnout.
“The idea was to put the feelers out there and test things out,” he said.
“It’s great to see a good turnout.
“We’re hoping for an under 12 and under 17 side this year, with potential for change.”
Miller said this was his first foray into junior soccer training and he was looking forward to the challenge.
“This is the first time in a few years we’ve had an under 12 side,” he said.
“It’s good to see so much interest in soccer from the clubs’ perspective.”
Miller paid tribute to club president Jamie Norton who had helped push the growth of the club and interest in the sport in the shire, and successfully launched new programs including a women’s team, indoor competition and school holiday training for juniors.
The under 12 team will train each Thursday between 4.30pm and 5.30pm, with the team playing matches in Warrnambool, Port Fairy, Portland, Stawell and home games played at Scotts Creek.
